Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 2026 · Publisher: Lagartixa Labs · Contact: feedback@mytatame.app
This policy is provided in English for all regions where MyTatame is available.
MyTatame is a training journal for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It was built local-first on purpose: there are no user accounts, and your training data stays on your device. This policy explains the few, specific cases where any data leaves your phone.
1. What we collect
Almost nothing. MyTatame has no accounts, no sign-up, and no servers that store your data.
- Your training data — sessions, techniques, notes, goals, focus areas, and settings — is stored locally on your device. Lagartixa Labs cannot see it, access it, or recover it.
- Voice logs and typed session text temporarily leave your device only when you use the AI logging feature, described in Section 2.
- Feedback email: if you choose to contact us via "Send Feedback" in Settings, the pre-filled email may include your iOS version in the message body so we can help you faster. You can delete it before sending.
2. Voice + AI processing
When you record a voice log (or submit typed text for AI extraction), the following happens:
- Your audio recording and/or text is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our own server (a Cloudflare Worker operated by Lagartixa Labs).
- Audio is forwarded to Groq for speech-to-text transcription (Whisper), and the transcript is forwarded to xAI for structured extraction (Grok) — turning your words into techniques, notes, and questions.
- The results are returned to your device, where you review them before anything is saved.
Our server is a pass-through: it stores nothing — no audio, no transcripts, no logs of your content. Under our agreements with these providers, your content may not be used to train their models and is not kept beyond short-term operational logs (currently at most 30 days, for abuse and reliability monitoring). For current details, see Groq's data policy and xAI's API security policy.
AI processing is optional. If you log your training manually, no training data ever leaves your device (except your own iCloud backup, Section 3).
3. iCloud backup
If your device is signed in to iCloud, MyTatame automatically writes a backup file to your private iCloud storage (the app's iCloud container, tied to your Apple Account). The backup includes your sessions, techniques, goals, settings, form drafts, and pending voice transcripts.
- Only you can access this backup, through your Apple Account.
- Lagartixa Labs has no access to your iCloud data.
- Apple's iCloud terms and security apply to this storage.
You can also create manual backups and export them anywhere you like (Section 5).
4. What we never do
- No analytics or usage-tracking SDKs.
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
- No selling, sharing, or renting of data to anyone.
- No accounts, no profiles, no email lists.
5. Data export & deletion
- Export: at any time, use Settings → Data to export your full data as a JSON file (or your sessions as CSV) through the iOS share sheet — save it to Files, AirDrop it, email it. It's your data.
- Deletion: because everything lives on your device, deleting the app deletes your data. If you also want to remove the iCloud backup, delete MyTatame's data from your iCloud storage (iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → MyTatame).
There is nothing to delete on our side — we don't hold any of your data.
6. Children
MyTatame is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app has no accounts and stores data only on the device, no personal information is collected by us in any case.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes (for example, if a future feature required new data processing) will be clearly noted in the app's release notes.
